Overview:
In this game, the player and one of their AI friends are linked together by a tether of energy. The length of the tether increases as you collect crystals that are scattered throughout a maze. The level is completed by stepping on two pressure plates at either end of the maze. They can only be reached when the tether is at its max length after all of the crystals have been collected.
Backstory:
Long ago, deep within the code of Arcadia, a rogue AI known as the Minotaur had once been a fearsome villain. The Arcadian’s lured the Minotaur into a great labyrinth where he was soon lost in its winding halls. In order to rid Arcadia of the beast forever, two heroes, Theseus the Fox and Ariadne the Deer, ventured into the labyrinth. The heroes were bound by a magical tether that would always lead back to the other, no matter their distance. Theseus and Ariadne defeated the Minotaur once and for all using only their wits and skill.
Current day Arcadians use their folklore to build competitive games at the Esports Arena. The Arcadians used the legend of the Minotaur as inspiration for their Esport known as Tethered, where one Arcadian takes on the role of Theseus and another of Ariadne. Players compete against another bound team to see which pair can clear the maze fastest without being caught by the Minotaur’s minions.
When news of the impending arrival of humans to Arcadia was spread, many thought that Tethered would be the perfect way to bond with the human visitors. Now you can join Terrence, Winter, Chase, or Ella in a multiplayer game mode of Tethered where one of you will play as Theseus and the other as Ariadne. Use speed and teamwork to beat the Minotaur’s minions and escape the Labyrinth!
